Magic Badges & Silly Smoothies? What Happened to Survival Grit?

7days2die may have been in the fantasy setting for 10 years already
Nah. Just since 1.0. Despite the enchanted armor, the setting has been blissfully fantasy-free up to now. The sci-fi might be a little sketchy and Blood Moons are a plot point. It hasn't been hard to suspend disbelief. Yetis and mummies, though.... Well, they're not Cryptids and that's just AI for ya.

Yeti is a criptid.

Though a toilet paper covered teen emerging from a port a potty would be funny and look like a mummy, but it is not...

Of course. You're right.
And I have encontered criptids before, they are nothing to belittle or make fun of. They are ancient, intelligent, and very dangerous. To some they are demons, to others they are aliens and others creatures or criptids. This also includes fairy folk which includes tinkerbell, gnomes, and many others.

If you read King James book on demonology it becomes very apparent ALL of them have specific rules of interaction and engagement to be abided by. The same is also apparent when you read a compendium on demonology. Stuff you do not mess with. Stuff you do not play with. Stuff you do not joke about. I was doing a deep dive on paraphsycology to get a grasp on certain things to avoid.

So really if they add more criptids, just add some LUA scripting to where if you act a certain way they leave you alone, you do other things and they charge or go instantly feral attacking you.

If they add more criptids,
They really will be reproducing Fallout 76 along with all its "live service" nonsense. At least we haven't been asked to kill a Yeti wearing a clown suit...yet.

Not to worry. I'm certainly not one to dismiss Cryptids as "woo-woo." In fact, Wetiko stalks the world on a grand scale. You might be interested in Paul Levy's take on the subject.
