PC Lucky Looter useless now ?

I have searched results on Lucky Looter in this forum and saw outdated posts on it so here my opinion on Lucky Looter since the latest changes.
I believe Lucky Looter is useless in it's current implementation, especially in early game; and less useful late game and here's why from what I understand. All biomes have a Loot Table CAP now, and until TFP chime in to say LL bonus exceeds this cap, as far as I know it doesn't - so early game it hardly does anything. In Late game where you are questing in the wasteland I have heard there's diminished returns on the Loot CAP (soft cap??) - so your considerable point spent maxing out Lucky Looter is less effective ?

My friend that plays with me swears by it, but for me having 0 points in LL am getting the same loot as far as I am concerned. I just tell him it's a placebo effect and you are wasting points...

Can you educate me if I'm wrong ?

FYI I maxed out Lucky Looter in old golden days of 7dtd to get Tier 6 gear from loot, and that was the ONLY time I felt it mattered.

The caps will be removed in a future update per the Townhall and you can currently turn them off with progression turned off.

So there is that.

I don't think it does, either. Not exactly an expert though. It does raise your loot stage by the tooltip value, which isn't much. Not enough for me to ever really use it - eventually I'll take it in a Perc build, but mostly for the instant looting, not the bonus..

You can basically get the next tier stuff a couple days earlier, but even then it's a matter of luck anyway.
 
It depends on when you take it. If your loot stage is still low, lucky looter doesn´t do much as you most likely will only have stage 3 max and that adds 15%, that only helps if you are just a bit away form the next loot tier, but that´s a very small area where it actually helps. It´s a mid/late game perk and at that point crafting is better than looting at least for me (as it should be in a survival crafting game tbh).

25% is the max bonus and it always depends on how close you are to the next loot tier. If you just reached a new loot tier with your loot stage even the 25% won´t do anything.

Honestly i think it´s only for people who enjoy min/maxing a lot. Probably still used by a lot as many don´t know how loot stages/tiers work.

Yeah, I take it late game just for the looting speed, but the actual loot bonus is only meaningful in such a small section of loot stages that that part of the perk is pretty much worthless, imo.
 
Lucky Looter has never been that useful in terms of a higher loot stage. Maybe loot caps made it less useful, but those loot caps are being removed, so that's moot now anyhow. In any case, unless you want the loot speed bonus, there hasn't been much reason to spend points on it long before the loot caps were added. There are a number of perks that are not useful to many players, but that others players still like using. Most people don't need animal tracker, yet others swear by it, for example. You may find lucky looter to be not worth it, but others will still use it. There isn't anything wrong with that.

it used to be until it got nerfed
