Lots of frostclaws, lots of plague spinners, fewer mutated zombies

Just got the wasteland badge. The mutated zombies don't appear to be as common as the frostclaws and the plague spitters are. This could be because I was looking for them. I had to travel more to make the requirement though.
 
I noticed that too. I had to search for quite a bit until I had the required number of mutated zombies to finish the challenge and get my badge.

By the way, a little tip for people who are looking for radioactive mushrooms outside the Wasteland to prepare for their visit. You can also find them in the Area 7 POI.
