PC Loot Bags Despawning?

Currently playing on xbox series X, loot bags only last for about a minute even when you don't interact with them. I've heard and read multiple times that if you interact with one bag that it's supposed to start their despawn timer or whatever, but they already do when waiting for zombies to clear out. There isn't a way to adjust the in game settings to allow the dropped lot to remain there longer or anything.

All loot bags have a finite lifetime no matter if you open them or not, but the only ones that should be vanishing that quickly are the dropped potato sack lootbags that drop when you drop items yourself, like books, ammo or etc.

100% not my own bags. It despawns on its own. When youre running a 2hr cycle for 6hr nights, thats 30mins of horde on horde night. So watching the loot bags despawn right in front of me without even getting a chance to get them is lame af, at least in the old console version they never despawned like how they are now.

Ah interesting, yeah it shouldn't be doing that. I think they have like 30 minutes? Could be a little off, can't recall at the moment. I'll look into them despawning that quickly with altered time settings though, that would definitely be a bug.

@KillaConJaro, I attempted to reproduce this on PC and the Xbox S (retail) doing horde nights every night/min time on 24hr cycle/max, and they always despawn after 30 minutes and never within seconds. If you are indeed seeing bags instantly vanish (or faster than 30 minutes), if you don't mind please take a screenshot of the location (if it's a base or something of the sorts) and if you could catch a clip, and/or describe any settings that you changed after you initially made the game.

There may be a possibility of a setting for that in the future, can't say if there ever will be though.

I have to agree this is an issue  on playstation as well I do 2hour days & loot bags will be despawning as the bloodmoon is going on I don't really have the time to loot them when multiple dire wolves are charging (even though zombies never run is on) dire wolves still run & yeah there's no time to get the loot bags during the bloodmoon.

They need longer timers or configure the timer to be adjustable according to the timespan of the day.

I agree they should last longer, I thought it was 20 minutes at least that is what it feels like, never stop watched it. Early game I run out of base to grab them or what I can but die occasionally normally to a dire wolf. Once I get concrete I build loot catch horde base, not sure it works if too many bomb guys show...

I vote add a setting for it

I’m pretty sure you are right on the 20 minute mark definitely remember reading that somewhere on the forums. Or it’s close to that. I know at 1hr days with 6hrs night I’ve had the first zombie I killed on horde night drop a bag and it still be there when I go out to clean up at the end. So 15 minutes at least.

Guys, watch the 20:30 segment of the 8th Glock9 video from the latest "NightCrawler" series, everything will become clear to you about these bags. I would like to ask you to add the ability to play without them, because they spoil absolutely all the immersion in the game and, moreover, they lie around for a whole day and if you simply refuse them, this will definitely lead to performance problems, and will also make it inconvenient to interact with objects in the world.

UPD. Or make them a little more useful and rarer.

And one more thing. Look at Glock9's gear and the abundance of loot he managed to accumulate by Episode 8, while the episodes last 25-30 minutes. It's insane!
