PC Log Spikes

If they've removed log spikes from the game, please for the love of god don't bring that clearly stupid decision over to console. We love our log spikes and despise the wood spikes.
It's okay, you guys are never getting updated again unless TFP are able to get their IP back from Tell-Tale. Be careful what you wish for!

Lets please keep discussion about how retarded it is to relase an console port on an unfinished early acess game to another thread, id be happy to contribute.

Well, there were alot of questions and quite a bit of discussion here. I could have missed some things. I did want to add some more flavor to the xml based posts. Just because they weren't getting enough love, like in your posts, with all the hearts. But that's mostly self-love, because they were your posts. To be fair, someone already XPathed the spikes (the mod, *actually.. the modlet), so you wouldn't have to 'technically' learn how to mod them back in. I'm learning myself, but I think you could do it. If you don't, please disregard my original post.
By the way, I liked the spikes also and preferred them staying put because they were more fun that way.

:tickled_pink:

Thanks for taking the time to respond,

B
Can only apologise on behalf of TFP of the stupid hearts everywhere, its a language filter on the forums (sigh the game is not deisgned for children why are the forums like this)

The XML changes and modding the game is plenty easy, i just want the base game to be better and not have to get any new friends i introduce to the game to download a bunch of mods before they can play.

That will be one of the few times you are I are in COMPLETE agreement.

I think that they should come back, they do less damage than the actual spikes but are more durable so u dont have to be rebuilding the spikes every day

I'll second that.

Less the meme (♥♥♥♥ you Bobby Deniro! and seriously man, you need help, you're like a kid in a candystore with the memes :p )

I guess that is part of why I've been pleasantly surprised with A17 (until the latest build) as soon as I saw console port was out I thought the game development was done. Was happy to have an A17 at all!

I think the main thing that bothers me overall from all of this is the fact that A17 has brought a significant upgrade to zombie AI while our defense options have taken a big hit. I get the concept of wanting to force people to be creative in base design and try to understand how the new AI works to effectively plan a strategy, but at the end of the day it just takes a lot of the fun out of building a base that is both beautiful AND defensible. I've seen quite a few bases that were amazing for defense, but they are complete eyesores, and while I know that's not the most important thing ultimately, I do like have something that is asthetically pleasing and doesn't look like some random junk somebody just threw together while drunk.

I'm hoping to break this after the new year.

I'm going to remake my castle in A17 and have a working defense.

Now having said that, whether I succeed, or more importantly, whether it's even possible to....

... is a whoooooole other thing.

Shouldn't be too hard really. Late game looks like it's still going to be pretty much the same as it was before. Turrets are still a thing, analog traps are less effective, but can still be used in the right situations, blade traps are as deadly as ever. I think that once you get to a certain point of defense, you can pretty much build whatever you want, but the early stages of trying to engineer something they won't bring down on top of you will be a hell of a challenge for most.

Yeah I feel the same.

The build I made would take till day 60-80 in A16 to make.

I'm expecting at least another 30 days on top of that for A17.

Still.... it should work.
