Lockpicking Modlet

If you want to keep door intact and close it behind you then the lockpick beats the pickaxe lol
There is no point anyway. A zombie will break the door with 2-3 hits. Much faster to break a pickaxe and put a wooden one. Increase the speed of hacking.

 
The Lockpick has a big delay, so it is not effective. It is more profitable to use a pickaxe.
It's not intended to be a fast way to get into stuff at the start of the game. :p

Also you can just edit the action delay to make it faster.

Would it be possible to have the lockpicks work faster as you get the higer ranking perks?

 
Short answer: No.

Long answer: I tried and I couldn't get it to work. But I've learned a few things since then so that is absolutely something I want to revisit and see if I can make it work. :)

 
you have it flagged as light melee? attach flurry of blows to speed it up?
I'd need to check what that links into.

It's specifically the delay property that speeds it up. If flurry of blows affects that, then maybe. But I saw in some of the XML notes that delay can be affected by rounds per minute.

 
Tested and working with Experimental B221.

Still looking into possible passive effects I can use to increase lockpick speed. :) The problem is the repair action using delay, so it's going to be a bit of a bugger.

 
Hey man, its a great mod, but im having issues uploading it to my server. I cant figure out where im supposed to put it. So far i have the folder KHlockpicks copied into the steamcmd folder, steamcmd/Mods folder and steamcmd/7D2D folder. I am in no way any kind of wizard with this, do you have any idea where i should put it or how i might have messed it up? Thanks, hoping for a speedy reply :)

steamcmd/steamapps/common/7 Days to Die Dedicated Server/Mods :)

I cant find that path, this is a server i rented from 7D2Dhosting.com and there is no path like that, when i go through the server with FileZilla - Im at my wits end :p

Then I have no idea.

What I can tell you is it goes in the 7 Days to Die Dedicated Server/Mods folder. Basically if you see a folder with your .exe file and then other folders saying 7DaystoDieServer_Data and Data, you're in the right place. THAT is where you make a Mods folder and then put the lockpicking modlet in there.

I just recently installed the Lockpick modlet. now your description sounds good. but I am having trouble with it on A17.2 . my issue is that when you come up to a half broken door and upgraded with either stone axe or claw hammer it will not upgrade to the next level. I had to use the lock pick (mine you the door was already unlocked. regular house door) then I could upgrade it but only to door level 2 or level 3 upon right mouse clicking with stone axe or claw hammer. 20190316-035919.JPG

Will not be updated for A18 since TFP included lockpicking in that version of the game, and it's way better than this. :)

 
How do you even use the lockpicks in A18? I've right-clicked and left-clicked with and without the picks in my hand, and nothing happens...

 
Go to the locked thing, hold R and you should see a lock icon. If you click that, it starts the lockpicking process :)
