SSD Trim - old habits.

Okay, new game, just got a Motorcycle yesterday (real time), and I just now got the Lock-up while riding the Motorcycle (first time since wipe).

I'm on day 28, so been playing this new one for a while with no issues.

Lock-ups have only happened when I'm on the Motorcycle.

Notes on this game :

= uninstalled via Steam

= deleted the 7DTD folder under the \Apps\ directory

= deleted the 7DTD folder under Steam directory

= reinstalled 7DTD

= validated files through Steam, had the files reacquired as noted in pic a few posts up (was a different 7DTD file this time).

= started playing with no problems until now.

= validation after lock up this time - file 19.9 GB, so definitely a different file than the config file, no idea which file it is though.

FWIW - I also put in new Memory first thing yesterday morning (32 GB -> 64 GB), and ran Memtest on it - all good.

(32 GB = 2 x 16 GB was replaced with 64 GB = 2 x 32 GB).

Stumped.

19.9gig is the size of the entire download.

I just downloaded 1.3 stable today to play a mod, that is the size of all of the files and folders in 7 day to die folder

This really wasn't appropriate in the announcement thread. Split it into its own thread in the correct forum section.

Please read the Pinned post on how to report an issue and follow the instructions to provide a log file from when you encounter the issue.

Seeing as how it freezes / locks-up, there's not really a valid log file since I basically have to shut it down via Taskmgr.

It must be a Steam reporting issue then, it only took about a minute to validate all the files, and while my Internet is fast I don't think it's fast enough to download the whole game that quickly.

Initial re-install took several minutes, so it may just be an indication of volume total check summed.

The only difference I've noticed without heavy digging is that only one folder and one file had 3/19 dates.

All the other folders / files were still dated 3/11 which was when I last reinstalled everything.

Few update notes.

= didn't lose my Motorcycle this time as I usually did before, though I was in an earlier location and not on the Motorcycle anymore.

= some broken down cars were added on the main drag I use to get to my base, and since I just completed a quest there it wasn't a 10 day chunk reset.

= ran a Windows files validation and surprisingly some errors were found and fixed.

= broke down and updated BIOS after reading some concerning things on my CPU, regardless or my concern for OS license issues (Motherboard related) - all okay.

Will monitor and see how things go.

There is a log, and it is likely still valid. It will just cut off at the point you killed the process.

This is starting to sound more like a bad Intel 13th or 14th-gen CPU issue though. Have been seeing people having issues with them a LOT more frequently lately. If you didn't do the bios update with the microcode fix last year, there is a very good chance your CPU is dying.

Okay, it just happened again after all that I did above.

Was a very long session (several hours), and everything else works fine, just 7DTD.

Have one more thing to try which I doubt will work with some of the recent changes to the game, but give a try.

I'll see if I can pull the last logfile.

BTW - the BIOS update didn't cause an issue with my OS license, but it did cause me to lose my MS Office license.

Fortunately I was to recover, though past experience that had failed.

Never got to upload the log, as the new configuration test I was trying essentially invalidated my game.

In short, I started a new test game and pumped a lot of magazines to get a Motorcycle early (~ day 10 / 13).

Played minimum of three days solid (~ 6 hours + per day) and had no issues until just now.

I just got done checking a trash box and jumped on my Motorcycle and almost immediately it locked up.

With 18 - 24 hours of game play (with Motorcycle) you would think a hardware issue would be showing up more consistent.

As I've mentioned before, everything else has been running without issues, even while I'm playing.

Have validated 7DTD

Have validated Windows files

Have updated to latest BIOS

Would it be worthwhile to test this with 1.0 as this only started possibley with 1.2 / 1.3 ?
