[Linux - Manjaro] Unable to fully initialize Steam[Solved]

Hello all,

I get the Unable to initialize Steam anytime I load up the game. I have attempted what has been mentioned in other threads and elsewhere online and am at a loss.

What I have tried is listed below:

*ensured Steam was up and running throughout testing
1. Reinstall

2. Verify integrity of files
3. Reinstall steam

4. Move game install files between home folder volume and secondary volume, tested, and moved back
5. Attempt to use flatpak steam - Couldnt get it to read existing installation folders likely due to ignorance around the "sandboxing" of flatpak
6. Use non-native version with GE Proton 9.2 - Wont even start. Launches then Steam play button just reverts back to play.
7. Swap back to native version
8. Tried loading the game from desktop shortcut generated by Steam
9. There is nothing in the output logs from these instances
10. I have tried multiple WiFi networks
11. I also tried Steam > Play > Launcher > Run

12. Steam > Play > Launcher > Run and Save(default settings)
13. Steam > Play > Launch without EAC

Some threads recommended trying to load the game from the .exe but it was older posts and the exe ended in x86.exe and I do not have the executable either because the newer alphas dont have it or its not part of the linux build.

I am have 0 issues loading the game on my desktop which is also running Manjaro. Mods work. Connecting to servers works. Everything runs smoothly.

Any help would be appreciated.

It is also constantly doing these small 15-34mb updates. Like Ill attempt to launch the game via Steam > Play > Launch game and I get the error so I exit. Then Ill try Steam > Play > Open launcher and 2 small updates will run back to back, with the second update being 34mb.

I guess just making this thread helped solve the issue.

Changed the game to force use GE Proton 9.2 and it allowed the game to launch. Loaded the game completely and played. Shutdown the game and let it go through the 8GB update back to Native and the game launched successfully. Idk if there was something residual from the first conversion back to Native that a conversion to Windows version and back cleared out the issue, but thats what solved it for me. Let it go through the forever long "Installing microsoft VC redistributable..." and fully complete the transition, then convert it back to Native.
