PC Landmines in A18

Are they a viable strategy as a cheap explosive? (especially the candy tin one, with how cheap it is)

I don't really know how to check the damage of each mine type so I leave it to everyone here...(can someone enlighten me a little on differences between each except cost to make of course)

Are mines useful?

Do YOU use them?

Are they cost effective?

mines only or grenade and mines?

and if so/not...would you base a playstyle/world around their use?

I pretty much never use land mines in PVE. I cannot seem to find a use for them that I feel is cost effective. My current horde base design uses pipe bombs to defeat the bloodmoon hordes. I don't know how I could integrate mines into my design without it being a hassle and also risking blowing myself up.

The only active use I have at the moment is as the backup for my screamer/horde entrance. One plate mine sitting on the path. Does its job when I remember to replace it. Once it's gone I know to go check my generator for fuel... :)

Damage per powder, they're not bad; just cumbersome to use. Pipe bombs seem practically as effective, and a lot easier to deploy against an efficient amount of targets.

Yeah, we use them a bit during horde nights, either bought from the trader or made. Usually ~20 mines around the base perimeter in key spots. So I'd say we aren't using them as a primary defense since they don't last very long. But everything helps when trying to hold back the horde. :smile-new:

They're super hilarious to surround your base with. Get the Wasteland book that lets you walk on them without exploding and just litter your lawn. Flying zombies!

I make great use of them. Max out the Infiltrator perk and you're able to pick up land mines. I get around forty from army camps (free land mines!), more if they haven't been stepped on by zeds. I put them around my horde base on a blood moon day and then watch those zeds fly.
