It still requires connection and authentication to Steam/EoS.How does the PC side of the game handle LAN?
Maybe when we get Server cross platform, we will be able to get some LAN options.
Sad story on this point is that not all online games demand that PSN subscription, Warthunders is one of the prime examples as well as a few other more simple GAAS modeled ones.Playstation just has the caveat that you must subscribe to the bloated PS Plus payments in order to play online. AFAIK Xbox does not have this limitation.

There is a possiblity for devs/publishers to negotiate a PSN exemption for LAN games but I'm afraid Sony only coorperates if an in-game shop than goes through their PS store will provide their 30% cut in a steady flow.
Are you saying that we can connect via a LAN, within the same "class", for 7dtD? I realize that if my two systems connect via Xbox Online, that this might be a LAN type play but it would be bouncing out to the world and back again. It still requires connection and authentication to Steam/EoS.
You already have a LAN option as long as the systems are in the same "class". (PS5/PS5, Xbox/Xbox, or PC/PC)
With two systems/TV's it will work fine multiplayer. Playstation just has the caveat that you must subscribe to the bloated PS Plus payments in order to play online. AFAIK Xbox does not have this limitation.
With 1.2 dropping, you will be able to play across platforms as well.
Yes, but you cannot be completely offline as the connection requires authentication and traversal through EoS.Are you saying that we can connect via a LAN, within the same "class", for 7dtD? I would like the offline option of connecting to other Xbox on my LAN.
My main issue is that Xbox Series does not really play well when hosting a world. I was hoping that it was a network speed issue and wanted to try via LAN. I guess I can wait until the Cross platform works and built a PC server instead.
Yeah, that is basically what it is like. However the multiplayer connection is checking authentication for connected players every few minutes.@SylenThunder are you talking about DRM (Digital Rights Management)? It's a game-initiated license check at a game start up
Had to google it lol, it might have increased my IQ by .5 point too![]()
