Just bought and game won't launch.

When I launch either through steam or the folder, it crashes before it opens. Best I got was a black screen for a split second. Spent the last hour browsing online and trying everything I could find. Changing render, disabling EAC, uninstalling and reinstalling, verifying files, resetting pc and adding allowances in firewall.

Is that part of a typical windows update, because for some reason my PC no longer updates, and will always revert back if it try and force it to. I'm running windows 10 and this randomly started happening early this year.

No it’s something that will usually be installed along with the software that needs it. Follow the link Sylenthunder posted and install version 2022 and it should solve your issue.

That was exactly what it was. Thank you for looking into it for me. 

I never even saw the line below and had skipped right over it.
