Compare the graphics, the AI zombies, and other little details. The game has changed a lot since then. The same zombies began to search for a path using a more complex algorithm.

As Suxar said, the game now is very different from the game then. Resources required to play the game are much higher.

Everything that's been changed and added since the Telltale version adds more load to the system, whether it's on console or PC. Split adds even more load, and the XBox Series S already struggles to run it as it is.
Don't you understand this yourself? It's elementary, Watson.
In the case of 1 player, the game only needs to calculate what is happening around one player. And in the case of split screen, the game must calculate everything that happens around 2 players. The number of calculations increases by 2 times.

I love my cars and customizing them. The way I would equate it is. Imagine
you have a car with an OG engine, that has a redline of 7500 rpm before valve
float, that is when the pushrod pretty much turns into a bullet and gets shot up
through the head and hood exploding your engine.
Then you take that car on the highway and decide to try to push it to to 15000 rpm.
Instant fireball on wheels. In console terms, you would would brick it. Frying the system.

Playstation is the best console right now, Xbox is a dying ship and the game is never coming to Switch 2 due to shyitty hardware limitations.

I'm not sure how Xbox works, but on PS you only need 1 subscription if you got 2 consoles with same main account. The other accounts can use everything the main has bought on both systems. We do this with my old PS4 and newer PS5.
Then again, given his reactions I gues the kids have to ask their parrents to sort this out.
