Issues migrating 7DTD Dedicated Server

Hi Everyone.

Looking for some help here, because I've spent hours on this and struggling to get this working.

I have a dedicated Ubuntu Server running in Linode but want to migrate to my own hard to avoid some costs. I've tried the following:

  1. Taking a backup and restoring it on the new server with the same username.
    This resulted in the map and our previous saves/base missing.
  2. Taking a backup of the Saves directory (.local/share/7DaysToDie/Saves/Navezgane/<Server Name>) and restoring on the new server.
    Got the base now, but wrong day on the server. It loaded Day 1, but we're on Day 39.
  3. Backed up entire /home/gameuser home directory and restored to new server with permissions updated.
    Same result as Attempt 2. Base and all our stuff loaded, but still only Day 1.


What am I doing wrong? Or what am I missing?
Is there something client based as well?

There is a guide in the FAQ thread. Sounds like you did not catch all of the files. Would need logs from the first startup to be able to tell you more though. Information on that is Pinned as well. Use Pastebin.

In the save game folder of your original server. For example, your new server saves games at:

/home/gameuser/.local/share/7DaysToDie/Saves/


So whatever your save path was on the original server, that's where the saved game lives.

 
Looks like there's a difference in the file for some reason.

Even though I copied the entire directory.

I will retry and see what happens.
