Is There a Way to Increase the Cable Length?

I'm trying to build my fortress and I don't want to add center pillars to hold extra fences, I have been digging in files trying to figure out how to increase the maximum cable length, but there is nothing I can find in any of the xml files.

Not without writing C# code.  I am not aware of anyone who has done this yet.
