PC Is RWG fixed yet???

Haven't played since 17.1, and chance RWG is fixed yet or are the world's all still ♥♥♥♥e?

 
Nope. I think the biome distribution is a little better than the worst parts of 17.1, but POI distribution is still broken and stuff like road generation is also far from fixed as far as I think. Check the awesome seeds thread for examples.

 
I just want water back :( miss claiming a small island, building a castle in the middle and setting traps EVERYWHERE around it muahahahahaaaa!!!

 
yeah I miss water and higher mountains, is it possible to add this back in a way? And the biomes so large that the word consist of 3-4 very a large biomes. Where is the smaller biomes that we had before?

If anyone is interested in a custom RWG generator, I have just created a new standalone tool to do so:You can set the parameters for the landscape POI distribution, traders, and spawnpoints.

Can you include POIs not currently found in RWG?

Can you select non-standard map sizes? I usually generate 10240 x 10240 maps cause they are a bit bigger than 8K maps, but still perform well and the extra 2K makes a big difference.

The Generator includes all somewhat reasonable POIs, also from Navezgane, and some good looking work-in-progress POIs.

There is a list to add custom POIs too. The generator just needs to know the POIs name, and the dimensions (can be seen in the prefab editor)

The map sizes are currently 4k, 8k, and 16k.

I have actually not tried to create other dimensions, so I dont know if the game handles the other custom sizes.

If it does, it could be implemented.

That actually looks nice. I run 10240 maps (10k) on my server and they work great. You have to update the map size in rwgmixer to get it to generate. It generates in maybe 5 minutes.

I'll play with this and see how it works. Might add some life to A17.2 RWG after all...

 
I can test later, if using intermediate map sizes would cause a problem. The generator is still locked to powers of 2...

 
How many more months until we get a playable RWG?

Been waiting for 5 months now for a playable RWG, how much longer is it going to be? Also, even if RWG was fixed, development has become so stale in the last 1-3 months, what's up with that? Even if RWG was perfect and we had all the biomes back that they took away from us, there's just not enough new content to hold my interest anymore. There's only so many times you can repeat playthroughs using the same builds because we're forced to build our characters in a certain way now instead of the old more natural progression cycles. So any updates on when the broken RWG will be fixed, or when some new endgame content will be added would be appreciated and maybe give me a reason to stick around and be more patient waiting for updates that are scarce lately.

 
+1 playable RWG.

They are working on it, and they will release it "when it's done".

The problem is the deafening silence from TFP on this subject...

I'd just like to know if it will be an A17x release, or if we have to wait for A18 for a playable RWG.

Not to detract from your original topic but have you tried the Darkness Falls overhaul? It's fantastic and the only reason I am still playing. Recently, I was where you are due to the RWG mess, lack of new content and long lead times for updates. Before walking away (because I truly love this game), I decided to try Darkness Falls. Best decision I have made in a long time. The gating system is a bit different and progression has a little of 16.4 baked into it. Plus there are classes you choose at the start of the game. All classes are attainable throughout the playthrough. Enemies are tough and night time is more challenging too (radiated zeds all over the place).

There are male and female behemoths and both will 1 shot you until you are leveled up and have good armor. I believe the female has 5000hp and the male has 9000hp. I think Khaine nerfed their hit damage to 200hp per swing (was 500hp). So even with max health and good armor they will two shot you. There's the hornet from A15 which is more aggressive and has better AI. Before you realize it one or more of them will be all over you like ants on a chocolate bar, then you're in a fight for your life (this is at the lower levels but they know when you are vulnerable and attack then, or at least seems that way).

The traders outposts are no longer invincible and have armed guards stationed along the catwalks inside the compound. If you assault them they will kill you instantly, other than that they are friendly. They kill zombies on site and do it well. You can also trade 24/7. There are additional guns like the AR15, coil rifle, coil pistol, coil sniper rifle and there are a few very rare guns that cannot be purchased, crafted or sold. They are rare drops. One is a shotgun I recently got from a military zed. It does 300 base damage. I use it for night missions such as when I go hunting for behemoths. There is so much more and I can't applaud Khaine enough in his efforts to remake the game as it should be IMHO. DF is not just a mod, it's an overhaul of the game.

There are still issues of course. Me and a friend have over 500 hours in DF and we have not encountered a game breaking issue yet but some have. And if you encounter a problem, Khaine is quick to respond in his DF thread and try to help. Downsides are it takes a while to find a descent seed as there are trader spawning issues with some seeds but I have found a couple that are pretty descent. Also RWG is still messed up like a can of worms but that isn't Khaine's fault. Given all of the positives in regard to progression, content, enemies and POI's, it's pretty amazing IMHO.

I encourage you to give it a try as it's a whole different game and I'm having a blast playing again.
