PC is it possible to transfer a world to my friend?

Hey i have a world i play with my friends but because of school i am kind of busy right now so i was wondering if it is possible to give the world to my friend and let him host it. I though i could just give him the folder with the world inside of it but it wont let him launch the world. He gets a message that says something like you are trying to launch a world that no longer exists. If you created this world in a mod be sure to have the mod installed. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You need to transfer the world and the savegame. If this doesn't work post a logfile. Information about that can be found in this forum section in a sticky thread that tells you to read it before posting
