Increase Wandering Horde Frequency

Hello all, I am curious if there is an XML edit i can make to increase wandering horde frequency. I've currently got a few modlets installed that increase size. And feel they are pretty good. But I don't see them enough. Any pointers greatly appreciated.

I've wondered about this as well. You can use the command to summon a wandering horde but even that has a certain amount of time that you have to wait before you can use it again. I would like to see more wandering hordes around.

I was told some time ago that wandering horde frequency was hardcoded. So, I’ve just increased the size and which zombies are in the horde. The sweet spot for my server is 35. Imagine seeing 30 dogs and 5 zombie bears! Or 35 wolves. Great fun though, I’d like to see several wandering hordes per day.

You should see A16 with War of the Walkers mod....

The random mobs are SOO FREAKY = They're higher in number, like 40 zeds, and theyre all customized mobs. Football players, Electrified Feral Bikers, 40 Army guys followed by 40 Hazmat guys, theres Custom Prison Guard Zombies walking with Prisoners in Orange jumpsuits, 2 group s of 40 Spiders!!?

It gets crazzzzy. I'm commenting cuz if anything, I'd like to turn them DOWN!! So maybe I'll get an answer here

The random mobs in War of the Walkers are intense. Makes playing SP a very big challenge. When you turn a corner and see 40 Football players running in your direction, its insane.

Delete, sorry you asked for frequency and not numbers. Looks like you have the modlets that I already use for their sizes.

Hi,

I tried this before, got screamers only, doesn't look like wandering hordes are tight at all to heat system.

During my testing they come more or less once in a game day (60 min days). Although can be almost back to back, horde day 1 at 2300 and day 2 at 0200.

So yeah some official word would be nice if they are hardcoded, as I would gladly trade blood moon for few days of multiple wandering hordes

Thanks for the replies. I tried messing with the "duration=9" and testing if frequency increased, but it did not. After reading more it is the length of time it takes in seconds to complete the spawning of the horde. Please correct me if i am wrong.

For all wandering hordes they appear to be controlled by the AI Director - which i think is controlled by parts of the code not editable through XML. Unless someone knows how to control the AI Director in which case please point me in that direction.

But to all, the hordes are around 30-40 and I updated the hordes to be from the ZombiesNight group so there is some variability in the speed of those baddies. It can be quite frightening to be in a POI and hear them start smashing walls. I will admit, i would not enjoy 35 dogs and 5 bears :rapture:
