Immersion: Locked Survivor POIs + Missions

A simple way to make the world (especially traders) plausible (who do they trade with?) would be to place "Survivor POIs" in the world, but keeping those POIs inaccessible to the player.

Basically using the mechanics of trader POIs to disallow damaging them, and not allowing to climb into them when closed.

Those POIs simply represent a small community of other survivors, that are cautious and distrust any stranger in underwear with a club running around.

The player could approach the front gate (some loudspeaker could comment no to enter etc).

There would be an intercom terminal (or even a NPC standing during daytime).

It can be approached, and the player can ask for missions. -> basically the same as the current trader missions.

Finishing missions for the survivors will unlock better missions etc.

Overall it would increase the immersion, without requiring fancy new mechanics. Especially the existence of the traders would be

way more plausible.

Those POIs could be place outside of other settlement, to keep them being in the way of the player otherwise.
