If i edit config section on gamestages file, is it reset gamestage ingame?

I wanted to increase faster gamestage on my current world. So i wanted to be sure that it not reset gamestage if i edit that first code section in this file?

There's always a chance you will break something when editing any files. That's especially true when you start messing with any progression or quest or anything related to the characters stats.

I haven't tried gamestage altering in the middle of a game but I have done progression and it wiped the character to level 1.

Always make back ups if you want to attempt it.
