Idea: Ingredient Substitution

Not sure how hard this would be to implement, but I had an idea for cooking - Ingredient substitution.

The gist is, you could sub in similar ingredients if you don't have certain ones. Like Grandpa's Learnin' Elixir, you could use cat food instead of dog food, if you were out of dog food. Other examples might be salmon instead of tuna, lamb rations instead of large beef rations, etc.

An easy workaround would be to just have separate recipes that all give the same benefit. Would clutter up the list a bit, but it would work.

The idea is interesting, although I don't think the implementation will be simple. Although Syphon583 suggested a completely workable option for the current engine.

I would be more interested in recipes from muddy water.
What is happening now. First I boil the water, then take it and cook a vegetable stew from it.
What I would like. Cook the stew directly from muddy water. Let boiling take 1 minute and cooking immediately for another 1.5 minutes, then the stew from muddy water should cook for 2.5 minutes. In principle, the cooking time will remain the same, but I will not have to rearrange the ingredients.
