Who actually thought that the new MP server search system is a good idea? Where is my favorite list? Why do i have to go trough a search filter? Why is this not optional and i can´t go directly to my history?

I can´t find my own server via the filter. I have no clue wich settings i have to adjust to find it. Sure i can just use any search filter and join via IP. But i don´t know the IP of other servers i joined that aren´t mine and i have no idea wich settings they have to adjust the filter to find them via the search filter, i don´t even know where they are located.

This needs to be optional and there needs to be the option to see the whole list.

Just to add how i searched: My server is located in germany. I had everything set to "any", didn´t fill out anything that was blank and didn´t change anything that was already filled out, set the region to europe because there is no "any" option (wich should also exist for the region so we don´t have to search every region seperatly if we can´t find a server we like in our region) and still couldn´t find my server.

Don't worry, USA still looking for few lost atomic bombs so cound't find server is not so big deal 😅

 
Also, unless I missed it, there is no ping filter in the new search. Half of my NA-East server results are written in non-English script. I will assume that these are just the hiccups of a new system and not poor design.

You may or may not be aware, but this update expanded platform availabilities.  With that being recognized, in order for these other platforms to communicate some things had to change.  Something I would recommend to help identify your previous servers that you used to play on, there are a few methods to find their IP's. 

One, is to load your previous Alpha (A20 for example) through selecting the "beta's" tab in steam game properties and navigating through the IP's on your favourites list that way.

Two, is through going through your previous output logs and searching previous connections to servers that you joined. 

Three, is opening the 7 days to die launcher, selecting the "Tools" tab, then "Open savegame folder".  From the folder that opens up, select "SavesLocal" and then go through the folders to view the "hosts.txt" file contained within. This will list ips and ports for previously played servers.

@cheebsco I did recognize that. I just don´t see why that search filter needs to be there before i can see my favorite list. No matter wich platform, people who want to join a server they already visited don´t need a search filter. Don´t make it manadatory to use it please. Let me in the server list first. It´s annoying that i have to apply a search with the correct region applied to be able to see the servers i want on my favorite list. 

Also that doesn´t explain why a server owner needs to manually configure the serverconfig file to add the region when that setting already existed before in my serversettings at G-portal. It was set to Europe and still i had to add it in the xml so the server will show up in the list.

It´s unnecessary complicated. And a warning that our history is going to be deleted would have been a good idea.

i think this list problem is this same problem as mods = gamepass xd

 
I tried going through steam server history and cant join that way even though server has people on it.  Searching through server history is stupid anyways.  Cant tell what they are, what day its on, mods, drops, and so much more.  Also why did you take away name search.  Every server I see searching North America is not American and lowest ping I see is 314.  So I cant find it in server browser, which total going through all has like 800 servers a tenth of what they had and majority suddenly Chinese no matter on area, and I cant join through steam.  Last update made this game unplayable.  I saw The WalkingZed server once then no longer shows, guessing due to no open slows being only american one showing and that has been the only american server that had people on it.  Time to find a new game to play I suppose.  I dont even remember a lot of server names I was on.  Missing favorite server list sucks.  I remember I think 2 of the 5 servers I was playing on name wise.  I have a lot of servers 20ish on server history due to joining then leaving seeing mods and differences inside.  Im bad with names and relied on favorites.

Another misheap: If i have servers from different regions in my favorites, it´s not possible to see my whole favorites list at once. I can only see the ones from the region that i choose in the search filter before. Meh. I have seen games with worse quality when it comes to searching servers during their development, but i have never seen a change that made it worse than it was before. That´s a whole new level.

I'm having an issue where I have my server saved to my favorites, but I still need to do a search for it so it shows up in my favorites. Kind of defeats the purpose of having a favorites list does it not? 

 
Here’s to hoping the server browser gets the needed tweaks in A21! There have been so many complaints about this that I would be shocked if there are no changes made in the upcoming alpha release. In fact, I think there have been more complaints about this than any other feature in A20.
