I love this game but what kind of cheesy money hungry stuff is coming next?

I get the Fun Pimps want cosmetic money but to absolutely destroy the beautiful clothing system and variety from the old console version of 7 days to die just absolutely curb stomps some of my love for the game. I loved the old cosmetics and finding cool different clothes and armor and now they want money to feed us more mid, trashy, and crazy outfits that don't fit the theme instead of those outfits just being additional buyable content or something. But first you take what I want then feed me this ■■■■? Not only did the old clothing system fit the game perfectly but it added to the grit and realism that this game seems to be steadily losing. And for some us console players were suffering, no dev tools, and we don't even get access to place everything thats in the game, the ambulance being an example. But hey at least we have jars back after asking for forever lol. Idk anymore I love the game and the work they've done but they hit an arcady unrealistic pivot at some point that I just don't know if I'm for anymore :(

I'm not saying removing the old clothing was purely to sell content but it definitely feels like part of it lol. I wouldn't call any of the current armors or buyable skins better than the old variety of stuff which I'd prefer any day. Like you can turn the lights off to say she's prettier but it's just a lie lmao

It may have been nice to have layered clothing and armor, but it looked really bad. I don't miss it at all. If they had chosen to remake all of that into stuff that looked decent and didn't constantly clip, that would have been fine. They chose this option instead, and it's also fine. You rarely saw yourself back when you had the old clothing and armor except when driving a vehicle, so it isn't like you're missing out on your own look that much. Yes, there's a 3rd person option now, but it wasn't there with the old clothing/armor.

I'll agree to a degree, there was a lot of clipping but when I was playing with others they still looked a lot cooler and unique to me, I liked all the clothes and color variety for most of them. Honestly I'm surprised, I thought there's be a lot more people agreeing with me lol. You could have trenchcoats, different color shirts, different hats, different sunglasses, masks or a cigar, the armor layered over the clothes. It felt a lot more in depth and detailed to me even though it wasn't perfectly fleshed out

I don't care for graphics, I didn't even conciously notice any visual changes. But as a game feature they were lackluster. Very small effects on heat, and heat had not much impact. Also you found one the few better clothes pretty fast and then any clothes you found were useless and to be scrapped or thrown away. It would have needed much more variety in buffs and effects for the clothes to have any impact (for me).

The only positive was more variety in loot, but I assume that was and will be filled by other items (not sure, but at least years ago there were technical limits for how many items could be in the game and they had to reserve part of them to modders as well. So probably they sometimes cut some less usefull items to gain space for new items.

Realy don't care if something looks cool or not but the moment clipping is showing it just is plain dumb looking to me. And looking cool in multiplayer... Never liked Barbie so why would I care about dressing up in a game?
But serious, looks is just somthing to be fixed in a final version. For now I realy hope the PS5 performance would have priority.
(Or Xbox, but no idea how it performs there)

I definitely think they could've found ways to still add more dynamics in the temperature and clothes stats, I probably care about customization too much because I spend way too long customizing my base inside and out as much as possible and I think the clipping issue wouldn't have been that hard to fix. I also totally agree with once you find what you're wearing the rest is trash but it also makes complete sense to see all that in the apocalypse and for it to be the easiest way for cloth without ripping up a couch (not that cloth is hard to get). Everyone's dead and everyone had at least a dresser or closet full
