PC I just want to give madmole props

Just seeing how much you and the other mods/devs are interacting with your customers is great, I bet that gets exhausting, looking forward to seeing that castle you're working on. The communication has been pretty great, I don't respond to every little thing but I've been reading over it and you aren't the bad guy people try to make you out to be.

You should host your own server for some of us to play on with you, might be interesting to play with the devs with their own game. Or a discord or something.

I agree and very glad you posted this. With the recent complaints especially, reading through everything and trying to sort through criticisms must be taxing. I'm sure the whole team takes at least some things to heart. A lot of the added things in the survival and zombie slaying aspects of the game I love more than ever now. Zombies not digging before was my biggest problem in A16 and eventually led to me not playing anymore. I just don't like some things that were removed that gave 7D2D its unique characteristics.... but in the end, it will not change the fact that this is my favorite game.

A server would be great. I would enjoy a series of videos of the whole team playing the game legitimately (the harder the settings, the better of course, hehe). Some solo, some multi, whatever. No need for entertainment... I don't need to be spoken to nor do I need the constant narration. I just want to watch--and hopefully point and laugh from time to time.

I definitely understand they're busy, but a server with the devs (or just Joel) would be great fun. And yeah, mad props. There are certainly a lot of salt-blood people around, but the constant interaction is un-heard of in today's age.

I agree completely - I have never played a game, where the developers are so close to the players. I guess that is one of many reason, why I look forward to celebrating my 1000-hour playing time jubilee in the coming days!

Thanks for making a great game - A17 has really put new life into the game for me and my zombie-killing friend...

TBH the rest of the dev team are the ones who really deserve props for not loosing their ♥♥♥♥ when they were forced to replace their intricate "placeholder" features with simplified, recycled garbage. How Madmole didn't get a broken nose is a real display of restraint on their behalf.

EDIT: I've spent much of today reading everything that madmole has posted in the last couple weeks and he has only just started to acknowledge a small portion of the criticism maturely, while still childishly dismissing the rest. If you want to see an example of devs who actually do a great job communicating with their user base I suggest having a quick peak at From the Depths forums, then you'll understand why the very suggestion of praising the dev behaviour here is ridiculous to many.

I dont think anybody is thinking they are "the bad guys".

About their forum interaction, the quantity is very good like you say. But I must say they use too much sarcasm and condescende often when answering. Many times it looks you are talking with any other forum user, and not the devs, who IMO should act better than us, me included.

Also, too many times, specially since a17, they dont really read/comprehend what you write, inmediatly thinking you just want the game easier. It's like they go into automatic response.

That could just also be us going on the defensive too early and often when you hear complain this, whine that, you'll usually default to an automated response routine also.

Its just how its interpreted on the receiving end.

Its just hard to tell them exactly what we mean sometimes.

and often, I think many people don't have a clue what they mean when they respond.

There have been so many well thought out, well written and concise posts made over the last few days that they have responded to with just "git gud/we don't want to make an easier game" (ironically often in response to a criticism of how the new patch is artificial difficulty rather than actually challenging) or they use the "artistic vision" argument. But that defense only gets you so far. It's perfectly valid to criticise an artist for painting an outdoor installation with non-weather proof paint, just likes its valid criticism to point out that many of the new systems they've implemented don't match the game genre/are bad game design.

There is also a huge difference between merely being defensive and being immature, surly and condescending.

While I can certainly appreciate the, err... 'passion'? many have displayed in their posts, it is impossible to miss that some of them have been quite self defeating. Which is unfortunate for all of us.

Whether or not it is reasonable or fair to expect the mods/devs to handle all of those while remaining polite, respectful & professional, is of course a matter of opinion. I don't expect I would to be honest.

That they are still engaging here, at all, I can only view as both courageous & mashocistic, heh :D

A friend gave me a piece of wisdom a long time ago when I was really wound up by a car driving very agressively during rush hour. He just said, "When that happens to me I think to myself, 'maybe they're rushing to the hospital or something'".

In other words, try not to take it personally. Take a minute and imagine it's a face to face conversation with a good friend.

And threads like this are the consequence of the Participation Trophy generation. I bet yall thank your neighbors dog when he craps on your lawn. I bet you give the dog a treat and tell him how special he is for making such a big pile. Gezz! Oh and also thank yall for Loot Crates, paid Season Passes and the new $20 Santa Skin from Bethesda all brought to us by a group of people who refuse to call crap crap and thank people for ♥♥♥♥ting on them. This is what happens when you heap praise on people and company's that actually need a good swift kick in the ass.

Maybe youve missed the 19029102921021921209 posts on the internet calling Bethesdas crap crap
