PC I have yet to even bother with guns in my 4k hours of gameplay...

The only gun I bother with is the Sniper Rifle due to the sheer efficiency of it. The other guns are too expensive to use because I'm not interested in spending all of my gameplay time collecting brass, lead, coal and nitrate powder to make ammo. If you're at the point where you can mass produce ammo and use guns as a primary weapon the game is already over. Unless you're trying to fight off late game 7 day hordes you'll probably find little need for guns.

Some of that I agree with.

I've only ever switched to using the AK in a modded game where zombies are harder.

I melee pretty much everything (7d horde included), crossbow some stuff in building eventually (if I want to avoid therisk of having some loot destroyed) so kinda the same here :3

I used to have a sniper rifle but at some point since I can do it I switch to a AK : I can reduce my DPI on my mouse so it's easy to aim with, it have a fast fire rate and hight ammo count and also one shot in the head (depend of your skill/difficulty of course, but it's the case on most modded server i'v played).

It's faster to reckt a wandering horde this way. Or a scout and his horde.

It's useless to kill at long range after all, you miss the corpse and it's not a threat.

The main reason I don't use that much the guns is that when Z run they are moving their head way too fast to be aimed at correctly, so it cost too much to kill them this way. Meanwhile if you run you will never get hit, so enjoy the melee free of charge as long as you have some stam.

I'm with the people that point out that if you don't make the game super easy by cutting your GS in a quarter, you will find that the game becomes much more difficult.

You still don't need guns, not currently. Like people have said, you can drop spikes and melee them, you can use explosive ammo, you can do whatever.

Now, when your gamestage is not at a fourth of what it should be, on day two thousand or so when you have waves of glowing cops running at you and your shotgun turrets are out of ammo, I think you will find those guns are a necessity.

Who am I kidding, on day two hundred or so it becomes impossible to do a horde night without guns unless you hide underground.

I'm pretty much a club and crossbow kind of guy. I very rarely bother with guns but then I also very rarely play games to even 50+ days... so yeah.

gameStage = playerLevel + playerLevel * (daysSurvived * daysAliveDifficultyBonus + gameDifficultyMultiplier )
so for example

20 + 20(35*0.1+1.5) = 125

5 + 5(35*0.1+1.5) = 30

Meaning he wasn't making the game harder by leveling slower, he was making it easier.

If he goes into a vanilla game without gimping his gameStage, he's probably going to see a major difference in day 35 hordes.
I play on modded servers that make the game much harder than vanilla, like a dozen puking cop or a dozen radiated exploding dogs.

In either case you eventually get to see everything the vanilla game can throws at you and I've not needed a gun for it.

And nearly every post says the same thing.

And then they're still not needed because 7 day hordes are completely optional.

Yeah. Cops are pests with their suicide attack. Makes for a lot of work if you don't kill them fast. I actually buffed most of the guns on my server. AK-47 makes all of them except the Sniper Rifle obsolete. Makes the rest of them more worth using. Made ammo cheaper too because I have lots of custom zombies and loot and overall higher difficulty than vanilla. Guns are fun to use, just too expensive for little return in vanilla.
