I have an idea for a new game

I have an idea and dont know anything about programming or game engines, and by the time i learn how stuff will change and it will be  obsolete, similar to 7 DTD, i love the upgrade and crafting system, but its set in real world, maybe import from google earth. And you start at your ip address, obviously government buildings are off limit for entry due to security reasons. So it will add a challenge if playing with friends in different towns/states/ countries. Game modes are invasion by unspecific country and you fight to reclaim it.  Zombies, where you learn to develop a cure and reclaim society.

Apocolypse which would just be pure survival raw and untamed.i have more ideas for it that ive got written down, but dont want to post too much, and the game be ripped off and under developed.

Most game developers won't take ideas from other people, especially posted in game forums.

Typically, what you would need to do is generate some sort of game design document outlying every portion of your game (theme, game mechanics, etc) and then seek legal protection based on that game design document.

After that, they would want you to create a working demo of the game, demonstrating the ideas in your game design document and showing that the game mechanics you are going towards can actually work in game.

If they are impressed by the work, then they would probably hire you to continue development of the game.

What you are suggesting here is actually hiring a game development company to perform the work (from concept idea to working model to full game).  Since the game developer is the only one actually spending any money on this game concept (and taking all the risks), they would more than likely require you to fund the work (if they want to do this type of work and do it for a game idea not controlled by them).

Well its not so much as i would want any of that, just thought it was a good idea and i think alot of the systems they use for 7DTD, (crafting, leveling, item degradation) would work out well. Ive looked into trying to make a working demo, i dont have the technological incline or capability to make it happen nor the capital to fund the idea. Im willing to give it away for an honorable credit mention. Just didnt want to put the more polished ideas unless someone was interested.

Unfortunately, as was mentioned, developers usually won't take outside ideas.  I tried that a long time ago myself and it went nowhere.  Now I know not to bother.  Unless you were paying for the game to be made or worked for a game developer or knew someone who worked for one who might be open to trying your idea, it is unlikely to ever be used by a developer.

Your best option if not paying someone to make the game is to find someone making a game similar to what you want and then offering them suggestions from your game idea to add to their game.  If they like the ideas, it will bring their game closer to your idea, even if not exact.

Yea i kinda figured thats how it would go, i just wish it worked slightly different, if a developer listened  or even just checked in with outside ideas that could easily boost them into a diffetent league above other developers.

Developers generally have plenty of their own ideas among their staff to choose from.  😀

And as far as making them be in a different league.... The idea didn't so that.  Ideas are fine but they don't make any developer stand out.  What makes them stand out is how well they develop those ideas.  Even a very well fleshed out idea is still just an idea and a great developer can turn it into a great game while a bad developer can make a game that flops.
