PC I have a stone shovel and a dream

Hello!

I have a dream. Dream about doing a challenge run. In this run i limit myself to buy perks from only 1 attribute untill i max it out. One time i have found a stone shovel tier 6 and stocked it full with mods (gravedigger included). Filled with joy from my loot i went digging since horde night is coming, need to build my defence with something, but then everytime i tried to dig up top soil block(250hp one) i always leave it with 1 hp. Now i don't know whether it's intened to torment me for not buying "miner 69'er" perk or some magic fraction is not working. Developer please help i'm slowly loosing my mind and soul just 1 quick hotfix to add 1 block dmg to tier 6 stone shovel that's all i'm asking.

Right now it take 3 hit to deal 249dmg to soil with that setup, which makes 4th blow the finishing one. That's 33% more labor because of that 1 hp and when i don't buy mother Lode either i need to dig quite a bit of ground to collect enought clay for my cobblestone fortress

Well, that's annoying.. :) Wouldn't mind a change, but those pain points will exist in any case.

For a decent workaround, assuming you're just gathering clay or digging treasure, just skip the first layer. The below layers are Dirt, which has 200 hp, and produces just as much clay per block (iirc). Gather/tunnel through the layers 2 and 3, let the Topsoil collapse, it will turn to Dirt when collapsing.

Stats of items are random (in certain borders). You may find a T6 stone shovel that has one more damage and your problem is solved. That's why it can't be fixed with a change. Change it and somebody else finds a T6 shovel with 1 less dmg and encounters the same problem again.

primitive items don't have random stats

So a challenge run. But then complaining about being challenging? How does that fit together?

PS: You could throw a pipe bomb before digging a level area. Pipe bombs do minimal block damage, just enough to remove that last hit.

C'mon...he's not complaining about challenge, he's complaining about a specific primitive tool not conforming precisely to a specific block's health values...

I don't know if that makes it more sensible, but at least it's accurate.

EDIT: Isn't the easiest solution here just to increase player block damage?

The challenge is to have to cope with less material because it takes more time to dig it up.

i don't really mind that block to be 4 hit. What i hate is the fact it stays on 1 hp! Especialy when i include some math: 250/3 is 83 and 1/3 but due to game operating only on full values it rounds it down to 83. This hurts my heart more then anything else :(

Are you looking for sympathy or a solution?

Cuz solutions are simple and plentiful. Sympathy...not so much.
