PC I carry both

I make a bow and arrows for the beginner quest and then usually either give the stuff to my wife or immediately scrap them.  I just use melee until I find the gun I choose to use in that playthrough.  Not sure why I don't see bows or crossbows as worth it anymore.  I guess it's because I never go Agi to begin with and see bows as weaker and more hassle than just using melee on the zombies.  I may have to try using them my next playthrough now.

 
Usually also carrying both. The guns for the "oh @%$#" moments mostly.

@Sjustus548 Bow/Crossbows got a massive buff in A20. Very usefull  for runningn zombies also, even if it´s not your main weapon if you have that book that let´s you slow them down if you shoot them in the leg with a bow/crossbow.

 
Only bow so far, never have reach the point to making a xbow....or a wood bow for that matter.    Best I've done so far is lvl2 beginner bow and a lvl6 pipe MG on a loot drop.  I kept the MG for the Oh fecal matter moments.  Now back to Day 1 and a bow after a starvation Day 6 and too high a jump to get to the trader for some dog food.  /sigh.

I am getting really good at the first 6 days though :).
