I've been trying to connect to a game with a friend for 5 hours and it's impossible.

I've tried everything: with mods, without mods, I've disabled EAC, re-enabled EAC, disabled EOS, re-enabled EOS.

I restarted my PC, restarted the game, uninstalled and reinstalled it, tried all the available world settings, tried joining through Steam, through Discord, and NOTHING. I bought the game to play with a friend, and we've been trying for 5 hours without being able to play. He tries to join, it takes forever, and then he gets a "session expired" message due to the delay.

I'm uploading a screenshot of one of the errors; it's just an example, I got several different ones.

I'm not an expert, and someone else will likely respond with better information, but it looks like you have really poor internet. There are a lot of waiting notices when just trying to get news or other data from TFP. You shouldn't have those kinds of notices. Are you using WiFi? WiFi is normally not a good option for gaming. Try using an ethernet cable to connect your computer to the internet and try again.

Hi @eaeze88 super sorry you're having these issues. Can you play anything else with your friend/anyone? Or is it only 7DTD that's giving you the issue?

From what I can make of the logs, as @Riamus said, it honestly looks like you just have a poor connection. I'll move this to Needs More Info - could you please do an internet speedtest and post back your results. Just so we can have a better idea about your gaming environment.

Hola @eaeze88, lamento mucho que tengas estos problemas. ¿Puedes jugar a algún otro juego con tu amigo/a o con alguien más? ¿O solo te ocurre con 7DTD?

Por lo que puedo deducir de los registros, como dijo @Riamus, parece que simplemente tienes una mala conexión. Voy a mover esto a "Necesita más información". ¿Podrías hacer una prueba de velocidad de internet y publicar los resultados? Así podremos entender mejor tu entorno de juego.

Yo también uso un cable Ethernet y tengo internet de 300 Mbps. No sé cómo será allí, pero aquí es muchísimo.

Y sí, solo ocurre con este juego; Puedo conectarme a cualquier otro juego sin ningún problema

I already did that, I restarted the router, disabled the firewall, and it still doesn't work. I can't connect with my friend.

Stepping in with some additional thoughts:


Please make sure both players are on the same version. I know it sounds silly, but it has happened before.
Double-check to ensure crossplay is enabled for both parties.
Ensure that unwanted mods are completely removed, if applicable.
Disable VPN's, if applicable.
Try using Steam or Discord to invite versus the in-game browser.

1. Can you join on anyone else playing 7DTD?
2. Have you tried running 7daystodielauncher.exe as Admin?
