How to moderate a forum

I posted a thread on the Town Hall. I did look to post in an existing thread but I guess I missed it. So it got merged into an existing thread. Cool dont want to many threads. But the reason giving? "Maybe look for an existing thread before posting". ALL that needed to be said was merged with existing thread. No commentary beyond that needed. Who is moderating the forum amateurs?

I remember a few years ago when I posted asking if XYZ was an existing bug and I got beat down with how I did that wrong for posting a bug. I was just asking if this was a game but not posting a game bug. I wasn't asking for a solution or reporting it because it could have well been from a mod I was running.

Moderators need to lose the attitude and try and just be professional.

I do think topics on 2.0 or the town hall can be merged at times but if the scope of discussion is different then they should be left separate.

We don't need one thread for everything 2.0 when someone brings up plague spitters as an example and then it gets merged into a larger thread.

For clarity I think it's done well enough. It just sucks when it happens to your post. 😁

I just look around and must have missed it. Where do they keep the forum rules. I will keep looking. Not being lazy just havent found them yet.

just havent found them yet.

Here is the one you need to know:

C5. Discussion of Moderation Actions

Publicly visible responses to or discussion of forum moderation.Instead, send a private message directly to the moderator(s). On Steam, you may use the comment section that’s provided with every warning and ban.

Be aware that this will likely be locked soon. Don't take that personally, but you did go against the forum rules with this topic. Most forums have rules to follow and failing to read them doesn't excuse not following them.

And to be fair, if you want to find something on this forum, use an external search engine. Like Startpage. The "local" search system leaves a lot to be desired. Just preface what you're looking for with "7dtd forum" or some such.
