I don´t think so. You can always use creative to get it back. Did you look up in the air? I had it once like 20 blocks above ground, floating in mid air.

Or dig down. If there is a hollow space below (even if it is just one block) it might be there.
But i guess it's the same bug as the vanishing backpacks. The HUD position may be wrong, too.
Back in A15/16 we had massive problems with vanished minibikes. Thank's god this is (almost) gone since A17. At least i couldn't remember we had this issue again. But reading the forum it obviously may still occur.
