PC How is everyone using the traders?

I went around 40-50 days without pants on my last save until someone on the server asked if I wanted pants, I asked why?, she said because I was still in my boxers.... me=huh? well I'll be damned lmao

I'm at the point where washing machines and laundry buckets are way more exciting than safes. Sad, I know.

 
Right now, just doing missions and buying the occasional resources I can't get my hands on yet, like steel, for mods.
Also been looking for a damn pair of pants since day 1. I've got around 4 traders in my map, and none of them have any pants... Oh, the humanity.

Haven't spend any skill points in trader related perk. This is how I use trader.

1) Sell the extra clothing/weapon/tool.

2) Buy early iron tools. Mods are relatively cheap(and cost many glue to craft) so I get them from traders, sometimes in advance. Get Tool & Die Set from traders as well. Before I have my mining perks, bought some coal/gunpowder so I can craft ammo. I was hoping to get some beakers but the three traders that I constantly check doesn't not sell beakers. May be I need the Better Barter perk?

Does anyone know what items the Better Barter perk unlocks? (like if I dont have the perk the trader will never sell a specific item?)

 
Traders are completly unimportant to me as you can see i placed my base not direct in front of them

I love those diamond shaped openings that the zombies can fall though. Clever!

Sadly not my invention. Saw them in a video.

Compared to my "jump over bars" trap

+ More immersive

+ Slow zombies fall too

- The zombies hit one of the ramps when they jump, means you need to repair from time to time.

But definatly one of the best traps i am aware of

Just need to put a spinning blade trap down there. Good times.
