How do you prefer to get gas?

I've tried scrapping cars, and it gives a little bit of gas, but not as much as I need.
I've picked up gas from random loot sources, again, very little from them.
But, the Desert for the oil shales? That is much more gas
Oil shales have given me SO much gasoline.
So I'd have to say my personal favorite is the oil shale search.
 
Wrenching cars…I like rolling into a town and clearing the streets…then the roads in between the towns. Basically I see a car I wrench it.

Early game if I can get a wrench quickly, I'll wrench cars for the motors, scrap my first motor and bam already have my mechanical parts for my work bench lol
 
Early game - wrenching cars. When I get chemistry station, I mine for shale (and the gas lasts me quite a while). Late game - I buy it from traders, as I typically have lots of dukes I have nothing to do with & I'm too lazy to mine shale again. 😁

Late game, I have a wood storage full of gas that I made and found, and in late game, I've read practically almost every magazine, 9/10 times the main one that alludes me is the quad pocket mod schematic:cautious:
 
It would actually be kinda cool to get gas from a tank using a hose and a gas can instead of dipping our wrench in the tank. Would add to the immersion and add a little extra danger having to wait until the tank is empty. But immersion is something we can´t have here because for some reason containers are a bad thing.

Add a chance to swallow a little bit of gas and get sick
