PC How do I get rid of "illness?"

Seems like a bug. I've had it a few times. Not sure how long it takes but I notice it goes away eventually. Think it goes away with time, not with any particular applications.

I spent about a day and a half in-game watching my infection get worse and worse. I could barely move, the icon was coursing red, the info said you're going to die, and I was frantically looking for honey, meds, anything. And then it just went away.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think you have a chance to recover at given intervals, and the perk increases that chance, so I think that even antibiotics only improve the chance to recover. I haven't seen them work instantly in a17.

Thing is, it doesn't say "inffection", it says simply "illness." Seems my stamina drains rapidly.

It's a PITA.

 
Yellow Tea will increase the periodic chance roll to see if you get rid of it - if it's food poison / dysentery related that is. How did you get it?

No idea how I got it. But if I don't get an answer how to cure it soon, I'll have to delete this 15 day run.

The stamina drain is too much to deal with. I show no debuffs.

 
Eat old ham Sandwich. It will overrides bugged illness with food poisoning, which can be healed.

I've had this problem as well almost constantly. Ill for hours then it might clear up for a brief time, only to mysteriously return for hours again. Wasted so much meds, teas, honey, and what have you and none of it seems to affect this. I even tried chicken soup. :) I'll try the old ham sandwich idea....nothing to lose.

i have the feeling, the whole illness system is broken. Have illness most of the time after i got hit by a zombie, but it never ever envolves further. In previous alphas you would get infection 1, 2, 3 and dead....

Never had food poisening either.

Highest i got so far was 4h on illness (with no side effects).

Thanks! That worked, except I used moldy bread. Then a jar of honey, and the illness was gone in a couple minutes.

 
Sometimes it irks me that some of these symptoms are so hard to predict the result.

I get it, we need some randomization, but considering one can get "ill" due to eating normal and bad food, being hit by zombies or vultures, i would say it is quite common. The curing of this is not common though and rather quite hard in many circumstances, unless you cheese it somehow (like with moldy bread or old ham sandwich).

 
Worked! Definitely acts like a bug. Illness persisted over 7 hours despite all attempts at treatments. I used the suggestion above to give my character food poisoning, at which point the illness head disappeared and the poisoning symbol appeared. I then drank some Goldenrod tea. A short time later the poisoning went away. Sounds like a bug to me. BTW, I think chicken soup should have a chance to cure illness, if it doesn't already. :cocksure:

I have a17.2 (b27). Confirmed this works.

Note in my case I didn't see an immediate change in the timer and took some honey and an anti-biotic, then after a bit it just disappeared.

I had reached "illness 9H"...

Note -- be aware there are several different things -- illness, infection, and food poisoning.. they're all 3 different.

Also I have "Intrinsic Immunity 3/5". I don't know how that played into this.
