PC How do I find engines in an easier way than breaking vehicles???

I need to make it easier to find engines!!!!
Vehicles are the only way to easily find engines.  They can sometimes be found by just looting vehicles or in the Pass N Gas crates, but your chances of finding them are much lower.  Once you have a decent salvage tool (preferably a high tier impact driver), it's very fast to get a bunch of engines since you can salvage a vehicle in a couple of seconds.

Note that only vehicles that can be looted will have engines when you salvage them.  Broken vehicles that cannot be looted will not have engines, batteries, gas, and probably a couple other things.

thank you very much

I am not sure as don't think I have tried it yet but I once read that if you wrench the engine you see in one of the pois (a junkyard maybe) you were suppose to get an engine

Not sure if it was on a bench or hanging from a chain.

That worked in previous versions, lately though, when I wrench those engines, I rarely if ever receive an engine from them.

I've found an ok amount of engines just from looting vehicles, and so many from wrenching vehicles that I've taken to selling them off. And this is with only 1 point into salvaging. Seems as though the chance to find an engine from vehicles has been greatly increased.

No engines since at least A21 and possibly before that.  I can't remember if I scrapped engine decorations in A20, but if so, it didn't work then either.

Depending on how much you travel, you can acquire a wrench a cooking pot and a
grill within 2 120min days. Rekt is a food and biological trader. As you head to
a POI or hunting or what ever activity. You pass groves of gold red and cotton
plants. Open a slot and punch them as you go, within a kilometer punching those,
using a bow to collect meat, and partially raiding pois "the kitchens" then moving
on. Within 2 days you will still be able to eat, you wont have a huge hoard but
you will survive. Selling the meat, plants, and other quick switch commodities will
net you these three main items, and enough resources to make 1 or 2 dew collectors.

From Day 3 forward, partially wrench cars that let you search them, stop if you get an
engine before the car disappears, you can come back later, this saves time. and allows
more time for other activities.

I play nomadic RPG as a scavenger class, doing this has consistently allowed me to be
comfortable enough by day three to decide if I am to build a base and use workbenches,
move on to higher tier pois, commandeer a well built poi, or spelunking pois looking for
higher grade tools weapons and armor. I boil water in the street or a field and a few times

at the entry point , while I raid the poi, or do a quest,
saves time.

1 water equals 4 of the burnt steaks, which is 40 points removed from hunger hunger.
I eat edibles that I find instantly, in the kitchens. I can always go back later if I
want to look for the honey pots, or hoard stash. As you find cookbooks you make better
meals, that use less water. Meanwhile the dew collector is in a central location making
additional water. I normally leave it outside of the trader initially, along with
a storage box, until I make a base.

Its not perfect but it makes me not feel rushed to complete any tasks.
