PC Hidden Status Effect?

Are there status effects that don't display on the character status effects screen in the UI?

I took the second rank of pack mule on my last level up. No problem...it added the inventory slots like it should. Everything's all hunky-dory. Not long after that I noticed my inventory was back down to tier one pack mule. The perks UI showed a red 1 and the checkmark off to the right for tier 2 was red. Hovering over the checkmark said the perk was disabled due to a status effect. My character status effects screen shows no active effects though.

I wasn't under the influence of any books that would have temporarily inflated my strength when I bought the perk. My temperature is perfectly fine. I'm not even hungry or thirsty... in fact I'm doing pretty well for myself on day four of this save. The only thing I can think of is I got a little fresh with that stripper outside the bar and she slapped me across the face. I did feel something coming on afterwards...but I usually just ignore that. After I noticed the loss of pack mule I did drink some honey, but that didn't clear it up. It's been an hour or so of real time.

Long story short... Is it just something I'm missing or don't know about? Or could it be a bug I haven't encountered yet?

If you became infected and drank honey or used an AB it takes a while for it to go away, till it goes away you'll have stat debuffs.

He has no active status effects.
He said he was infected and it hasn't cleared up, that means he has a status effect.

Anyway if he doesn't he should post a screenshot of it in the BUG forums, its possible the game still thinks hes infected without showing it.

Try relogging? That seems to fix a lot of buggyness for me.

What is your current level of strength? There are some consumables that will give you strength. It seems like you may have been under the influence of one of them when you unlocked the pack mule perk. If your strength is 3 or greater, then pack mule should be working. If it is less than 3, then there is your problem. The only things that I know of that reduce stats are clearly visible status effects such as overheating or being cold or being sick.

That was the solution to the mystery CoolJ. I must have been under the influence of something I wasn't aware of that was boosting my strength at the time I grabbed the perk. Strength is only two. Need three for the perk.

Thanks guys for helping me figure it out.

That's interesting.

So... something allowed you to buy a perk that normally you shouldn't be able to.

Have to be honest, I'd consider that a bug.

I'd report that anyway.

There's no way that should be allowed.

It just doesn't make sense.
