I can't believe I've been hanging out on this board for so many years and yet am only posting for the first time.
I'll cut to the chase. 7DtD has used numerous background images for the menu screen over the years. I thought it would be a lot of fun - at least for me - to have the game display one of these backgrounds, chosen at random, every time I load up (modlets that can perform this action already exist). BUT... in many cases I'm having trouble finding clean images of all the backgrounds on google. I'm happy to extract them from older alphas myself but have two problems:
1) I don't know where these images are stored in the game files;
2) There's a 99.99999% chance I would need some kind of utility that can read/extract these files as I'm sure they're locked up in a compact database that isn't easily accessible.
Can anybody point me in the right direction?
For added clarity, I'm talking about images like these (but obviously I need them without baked-in menu text:
I'd appreciate the help. Thanks! (BTW, I'm not concerned about replicating some of the unique UI elements at this time; perhaps in the future.)
Also, uh... Hi guys! A little late to the party I guess.
