HELP - 3000h Perm ban from 7DTD by Game owner? Why?

I get a This ban is permanent from 7DTD on my steam account TXIAH. What the hect? I have 3000 hours and playing as normal, I am in the forums all the time and I don't run local mods. I can't even play on my own server.

Contact Steam. The developers have never issued a vac ban so something triggered the automatic system and you will have to resolve it with Valve.

Hi Roland, STEAM/VAC website said it was not them and it was TFP. so you are saying its not TFP (because you love me :) and so I need to take it up with Steam? Can I quote you on that in my email to Steam?

Gotta love the run around process.

I'm definitely curious to know what took place / how it happened.

Hopefully you let this stay open. Canuck is well known here and this could provide us some proof one way or another why people get these bans. It's not the first time I'm seeing or hearing of this either.

Good luck Lonestar and please let us know how it turns out.

For a game that has no online "official" server component, being deeply moddable, there never should be a "game ban" as such.

If something has gone wrong, it definitely is worthwhile to share (at conclusion) what went wrong, and how to fix it, especially with comments suggesting it's happened before.

Seems pretty scary to me that someone can be banned yet no one seems to know how, why, or by whom. Steam wont own up to failure, EAC nor Steam has ever proven useful in any game yet both seem to be added into games anyway. To me, in an Alpha game, anticheat is pointless anyway as there are far too many variables where errors can occur.

I agree with Jax in that this needs to stay open until its resolved. If things become a flame war then only remove those responsible. Many of us use mods, tweak files, use cm or dm commands and the like. Many use tools to modify .dll files in an attempt to improve or change desired game play in both single player and on servers. This could cause many severe issues.

We are watching to see how this plays out Lonestar. Hopefully things are resolved quickly and correctly. And Guppy, I have no idea what "...

. " means... :distrust: I hope you can clarify.

Guppy is right - take a look at their list of VAC enabled games here. There's no reason a VAC ban should ever be given for 7 Days.

@Lonestar - I'd definitely point that out to the Steam rep you are in communication with...

For a different reason, I recently contacted the devs about the possibility of issuing a developer VAC ban to a particular person and none of them had any idea how to do it nor did they think that it would be a good idea for them to get involved in that fashion. (Personally I think they were just too lazy to try and learn how to do it)....

You can quote me with complete confidence. TFP never has given a VAC ban to anyone and unless someone sends them a step by step tutorial they most likely never will.

But does 7DTD even have VAC active? Does TFP even have the authority?

Developers can contact Valve to request a developer VAC ban and if Valve approves it goes through. It can be a temporary ban or a permanent ban. It still goes through Valve though so I'm not sure why they would say that it didn't originate from them. Who else holds the reigns of the might VAC?

Developer VAC Bans

Maybe someone posing as a 7d2d developer sent a request in? Is that a possibility? Does the OP have any reason someone might do that? From reading the VAC q&a it absolutely has to come from the developers. (Lone's ban, banned by OWNER)

This is strange indeed.

Is it possible you were added to a GBL Lonestar? That is not a VAC ban but more like a shared server ban list?

More light shining is definitely needed here.

Edit - Re-Reading the first post you said you cant even play on your own game. Is this a MP game or Local SP game? Are you saying you can not even START the game at all? That is quite scary if so.

To clear up a few things here ...

No, 7DtD does *not* use VAC

No, as it does not use VAC there is *no* VAC bans for 7DtD

Yes, there are game bans

No, we never used that to manually ban anyone

Yes, EAC issues game bans

This ban is valid for using a cheat tool as even confirmed by the OP.

Cheat Tool? Could you expand on this?

Why on earth would you even need to use one? I mean as a single player you got the CM, and even as a Server Admin you got that and a bit more...
