Hard crash during game

I was playing 7D2D tonight. I took a buried treasure quest, and had just reached the destination. I also killed a zombie at the location.

Perhaps a second or two after this happened, the game completely locked up my computer. The sound glitched, then the screen went blank. Pressing ctl-alt-delete did nothing. I had to do a hard reboot of the computer.

I have never experienced this before with this game, so I have no idea how to reproduce it.

I did not see any reason why this would happen in the logs, but I included them nonetheless.

I also could not take a screenshot (obviously), but this form requires one, so I linked to a Wikipedia image of a "very black screen." It is accurate. :)

That sort of behavior a lot of times can be a power supply or GPU issue, but it could be multiple things. With that and how the log just ends, seems like we're hitting a system issue. Search for Event Viewer and open that up, check under Windows logs and go into the System section, look for anything Critical and toss that in here.

Hi, Jugginator. I don't know why I didn't get notified when you replied, but I only saw your reply late yesterday.

Obviously at this point any logs in the event viewer are looking gone, so I won't be able to share them. I don't know if it makes any difference, but I have been using the same computer without issue for a few years now. I never saw this before, even though I play the game almost daily.

But I also haven't encountered it since, so it must have been a transient issue.

No worries that happens I've noticed. Sometimes a reply doesn't actually go through lol. Yeah honestly that sounds like a brown out to be honest with the symptoms and the fact it hasn't happened since. If it does though feel free to use this thread and snag the entry from event viewer
