PC Handy Things I Missed

So as an old(er) hat player there have been so many added and subtracted features over the Alphas that I sometimes miss things despite studying the patch notes.

I've had two pleasant surprises in A17, firstly the reinstatement of the "payload" when finally destroying a tree/rock, etc. Secondly, the fireaxe is now a viable melee option, it always puzzled me how crap it was at whacking zeds. Now as a primarily ranged player using melee to save ammo in non threatening situations it saves a slot not having to carry a melee weapon plus the axe.

So I'm putting it out there, what else have I missed? What other handy changes have you found since A16?

Wrench the tires lying around and you will never want for Plastic the entire game.

Also, here's a tip that is more of a bug work-around....as far as mining goes that final swing that delivers the bonus resource is BUGGED. You will get the bonus resource, but not the regular resource. This means that you need to ensure the rock or tree is at the minimum amount of HP when you deliver that last swing. The higher HP it has when destroyed the more regular resource you lose, and it really adds up. Ideally you want the thing to be on only 1 HP when you deliver the final swing. There are several ways you can adjust things to minimise the resource loss as follows:

a) Swap mods in and out until you get the optimum config that minimises those final HP.

b) Incorporate a heavy swing somewhere into your rhythm (if stamina allows).

c) Avoid putting points in Miner69er in general (because you cannot undo that and you may find that a single point in this perk can reduce your resource gained per boulder/tree by as much as 20%).

The "payload" is not a returned feature. It is a returned bug that will be fixed.

Huh... That was like one of 3 things I like in this alpha over A16. I should have known it was a mistake.
