Gyrocopter despawned after game crash

I was flying my gyrocopter when the game froze and stopped responding. I waited for 3 minutes, then alt+f4'd and relogged. The game spawned me at the location where I last entered the gyrocopter before it froze, and the gyrocopter itself is neither at that location, nor along the path that I took after taking off.

In many cases, vehicles end up in a different location that the player after a crash if you were using one. The player location and vehicle location saves happen at different times. When you start your game and get spawned onto the map, open the console (F1) and look for lines that mention vehicles. It should be there within a minute of spawning. It will tell you the coordinates of all vehicles. You can then go to where the vehicle is located.

That's the most common scenario. Vehicles normally don't entirely disappear the way drones sometimes do.

We are sorry to hear this happened to you.

Riamus is correct in his advice to check the log at startup to see whether the coordinates are listed for the gyrocopter. You did exactly what I would have done in backtracking, but sometimes it's hard to tell when/where the last vehicle save was.

I looked at your log and did not see any issues listed there, but I did see this:

I wonder if that's where the vehicle is?

I found myself in a similair situation a while ago, the gyro icon did not show up on the map. The position in the log was indeed where I found it but it only rendered in at very close range after I walked by it a few times. Only after using it and picking it up the icon showed up on the map after a restart.
