PC Gyro issues

Playing on alpha 18.3 and had my gyro for weeks and was loving it, had just finished looting some stuff up in the snow city, flying home, game randomly crashes midflight.. come back and the Gyro is gone and im on the ground . My entire Gyro inventory was full of hours worth of work. my modded out 6 pump shotgun and countless hours worth of other stuff. such bullshit. Anything I can do to get it back? Has this happened to other people? Does anyone else wanna forever quit after some poo like that happens?

 
It's almost certainly in the sky. If you can see the icon of it in your compass, get there and box up, up, up..... Good chance you'll find it. Then get close enough to ride and you'll be back in business.
