Open Steam
Click on your library

Click on the version you want  (goes from alpha 8.x to alpha 20.x)

For versions 5 to 7 you have to use the other method mentioned

EDIT: I had completely forgotten I had already answered similar question back in 2021. Well either one would get you there. :)

I didn't use any of those to get any of the alphas from 8 to 20.  I just used Steam to get them.

I only used those to get versions 5, 6 and 7, but for some reason I think 6 I never got as some trouble with it so I just have the 5 and 7.

Was there a specific version you were looking to download? I haven't did it in quite a while so I would probably have to go through the whole process myself just to remember.

Or there may be someone who knows more that could just put the exact thing you need to add to get what you are looking for.

Quick question. How do I know the version number of the later releases? I see 5.0, then updates. I downloaded the final release for A5 with:

download_depot 251570 251571 5316387393437744190

However, I am not sure what version this is. I know it is A5.x, but what is x?

Just going by the basics of the list....

2013-12-13 - Alpha 5

251571/manifests/public: 8674858241122065491

251573/manifests/public: 4102521358377237504

That was Alpha 5.0

2013-12-14 - Alpha 5 quick fix update!

251571/manifests/public: 8674858241122065491 › 4247862906762382576

251573/manifests/public: 4102521358377237504 › 2336933260752097492

This would probably be Alpha 5.1

2013-12-21 - More Alpha 5 fixes!

251571/manifests/public: 4247862906762382576 › 5316387393437744190

251573/manifests/public: 2336933260752097492 › 6929541534540314867

This is very likely Alpha 5.2.

Or maybe it wasn't actually numbered, and they were all just Alpha 5. Or maybe 5a/b

I am certain you can launch it and find out though.

Just a note...
Was going though and pulling dedicated servers, and the older clients that aren't in Steam to refresh my personal archive. Noticed that Alpha 6 appears to be completely MIA. I was able to get 5 and 7 without an issue though.
