Grow lights for indoor plants

I would assume for realism that people would ask how they get water and thus a water bucket or something to show you’re supplying water without having to actively water indoor plants which would be a nightmare to most.

Yeah I agree. I posted about grow times in another thread. Overall I think that farming needs to be tweaked and needs a little more variety. To all those complaining about turning it into a simulator....You don't need to farm to survive, go hunt and eat meat.

And how do I grow cotton on the second floor of my house under a roof?
You'd basically have to cut open the roof, place glass tiles, but also place some frame blocks to allow light in since glass doesn't let the plants grow (makes no sense).

Or make a chimney that provides an open hole to the sky. Anything within a certain radius of that hole will grow. I forget what that radius is, but it's somewhere around 5m.

Grow lights could be an interesting addition, though I don't really see any need to place a farm inside. I have mine outside against the back wall of the house next to the dew collectors and apiaries.

I want to say it's 7m, though that may be diameter and not radius? I've never actually done it, I usually set up my farm on a raised platform, sometimes attached to my base, sometimes a short distance away.

It was a rhetorical question.

Although I suspect that the author plays PvP, where the issue of base secrecy is very acute.

I don’t play PVP but I just like the imagination of having my underground farm in the side of a mountain or bunker style straight down 🤷

People growing herb farms 👀 underground already not that far fetched. I see the labs with the towers of plants already inside the pop a pills so its basically been thought of just not implemented. I basically use the game as my adult minecraft.

But yes youre also correct it would help pvp players I suppose. Never thought of that.

Maybe they can work this into later game. When you gain access to electricity, you can then install grow lights which will speed up growth. Perhaps even add fertilizer and watering. This will give incentive to electrical, chem station, and some type of a watering or irrigation system. Perhaps to start, you need to water manually, but then later you can install an electric triggered sprinkler with a water pump. Opens the doors to a lot. And for the people that don't want this, just stick to the current method which will still function.

If you're not playing PvP, there's nothing stopping you from building a bulletproof glass roof on your bunker and growing plants underneath. You could even build a vast network of bunkers connected by underground passages.
