PC Getting the Zeds to Come Down

Hey Guys, Just looking for some advice. My friend and I built a two level horde base (one part at ground level where he liked to snipe and a drop to a lower level where I liked to melee and shotgun) which has been working great. Wonderful horde nights until he stopped being able to participate leaving horde night just for me. As u can guess, the zombies don't want to come down and play. I know they are designed to not just fall into big holes anymore, the base worked because they were trying to get to my friend but I don't want to build a new base. Any ideas how to get them to come down?

Go up and shoot at them like your friend did . After several of them drop down because they are focused on you then go down and melee. Repeat.

put some ladders at the top block, just below the ramps. 1 block ladder. Then the stoopids think they can get down.

Works for the shotgun drop pits. Mostly.

some of the idjits will just run in circles around the hole. Just shoot those ones.

Once we get remote control doors I'm going to flip a drawbridge so it drops down, and use it to lure the zed onto it, then drop them into a pit.
