As a 7DTD player who has only ever played on the PS4 Console, I purchased a copy for my PC. Unfortunately it runs like garbage. My system is on the older side, so I'm not quite sure which way to go. I run a...

Dell Inspiron

Intel i5 - 2320 CPU @ 3.00GHz

Memory 16GB

64 Bit operating system

The only think I do not run is a dedicated graphics card. Would a graphics card solve my issue. The game looks like ♥♥♥♥ due to the lowest setting possible and when I just touch the mouse, I either end up looking straight up or down. ( yes, I turned the sensitivity completely down ). Any suggestions for a graphics card that won't totally break the bank or should I just buy a gaming tower if I'm going to spend some money. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Love the game, just wish I could get into the PC content, looks like a blast...

Yes, you're going to need a dedicated graphics card. You need to consider a few things before making a purchase though:

- Does your power supply have a PCI-E connector available? I haven't worked with pre-built PCs in a long time but often times the PSUs that came with them were bare minimum and it's possible that it won't have that connector.

- What resolution is native to your monitor? Higher resolutions will require more performance out of the card. You can turn down the resolution but the image will be blurry.

- What's your budget?

You should be ok with that CPU and 16GB of RAM, I run an older i5 without issues. Don't expect maximum settings though.

Another thing you should invest in unless you already have one is a SSD. It will help tremendously with game smoothness and load times.

If you can afford it, I'd say get a new computer with a decent gaming gpu.

Also, this game prefers Nvidia over Amd gpus.

Based on your cpu era, I'm guessing you have an Inspiron 620. (?)

If so you have an 8 year old 300 watt power supply in there so your choices to add a

video card would be limited to a low end, low wattage card.

An nvidia 1050 might work, a 1060 would be better but you'd be cutting it close on

the power. I think pushed hard, a 1060 alone can use up to 130-140 Watts.

A 1050 might give you 50-60 FPS on medium settings I'd estimate.

It would be playable, but not great.

If you're comfortable tearing apart computers, you could get a new power supply

and then a better GPU and put them in.

I really think you'd be better off just getting or building a new computer though. Your

CPU and power supply are gonna limit your potential for any decent performance.

For reference, I have a 1060 with an 3550 i5 and can get 80-100 fps on high

settings with shadows off. (at 1080p)

yep.. here it is all about your budget...

I would strongly suggest changing your power supply BEFORE all the rest as yours is mostly sure quite old and crappy so will not be able to function correctly under heavy loading if it does at all. Would suggest getting a 500 Watt supply, after you can think of the budget. Outliving with what you have will require you to buy a GPU as ones told you before 1050 will work for you at low-end, and a GTX 1060 6Gb would be a good solution for today and a bit of tomorrow, better ones make no sense with your CPU. Next step get a SSD, you should be able to run the game with full textures and AAF 16 with rest options low or off in 1080p.

Another case if you have some free $$$ would be to get/build a better system, here at can be something starting with modern i5 8-9 grade Intel CPU to 10th i9, 16-32 Gbs of RAM, SSD is a must nowadays, and a GPU from GTX 1070 to 2080 as of budget as last ones price can bite you leg off.))
