PC Garages for a 4x4 Truck..

Would anyone recommend any blocks to use to build a garage? because I just used cobble last night.  I have a ton of forged steel but no use for it.

Or is even having a garage worth it?

A garage is entirely for aesthetics.  The only time you really have to worry about your vehicle being damaged when sitting around is if it is too close to your horde base.

I do build a garage because I like to.  And it uses the same materials that my base does.  So, if my base is concrete, so it's my garage.  If it is steel, so it's my garage.  But it isn't required.

Depends on your definition of a garage tbh... it's the place I park my vehicle. It's also drive-through, unpathable by zeds, next to my lootboxes, which are next to my workstations ... soo... that's more of a drive-thru base, but you could call it a garage .. :D

I quite like a garage, late game, for the convenience of being able to park safely right next to storage to unload a vehicle. The 'drive through base' as Riamus described it.

If, as I tend to, you fight bloodmoons from your home, and don't have a separate horde base, garage design takes a little bit of work. I find you either use drawbridges and ramps or a moat, or you have the garage level completely unconnected to your horde fighting level, and use jump ladders or the like to connect the two.

Otherwise you'll end up with the hordes heading straight for your garage doors, come horde night.

A simple garage setup, for me, is a long rectangular space with powered garage doors tripped by motion sensors at each end. Very easy to drive in, unload your vehicle and drive straight out the other end. Above ground level garages using ramps and powered drawbridges are more reliable, and convenient once you've set them up, but take more work to build.

I forgot to put my motorcycle in my inventory once right at the hordbase. Like 3 blocks away from the stairs they took. Didn´t take a single point of damage.

I build an underground garage which is located 2 levels beneath my base, so there are garage doors and few hatches on the way, so zeds never take this rout

It all depends.  Sometimes if they get stuck at it, they'll just jump up and down and do no damage.  Other times, they'll start attacking it.  And then there is "friendly fire" (if you can call shooting your vehicle friendly fire) to worry about.  In most cases, it will be fine, but I've had a vehicle blow up before.

Anything I've made has been concrete. 10x10 with the walls and pillars being the 11th block. I made 3 by 3, 10 block areas with a roll up door in the front. The 4x4 is rough getting around if you don't make an area big enough. One base I made a rap around so there was no turning.
