Something I noticed with the crafting, is that if you have a workbench, and want to craft something, you need to have those specific materials in your inventory. Personally, I think it should be changed, like, if your storage box with materials is nearby, you should be able to craft it whatever item, without having to pick out the specific materials. And this would work for the Campfire, Forge, Workbench, Cement mixer, Chemistry station, Etc.

Also, maybe allow it so the blocks you place, can be picked up, no matter the material, I know you can do it with the wood blocks, but the concrete blocks, if you place one in the wrong spot, you need to break it, and don't even get it back. This feature is probably in the game, and I haven't discovered it yet, so if I can do it, please inform me. 🤣

Crafting from containers gets requested a lot but so far the devs have not shown any interest in it when asked during dev streams.

Blocks do not have an "owner" and so there's no way to differentiate blocks you place from blocks that are part of POIs or decorations.  They don't want you walking up to Dishong Tower and dismantling it and taking it home to build.  ;)   It's unlikely they'll allow you to pick up any regular blocks.  However, I have made the suggestion a few times to allow you to pick up a block within maybe 5 seconds of placing it so you can fix an "oops" when placing something.  That should work well without any issues relating to POI blocks.  And, no, you can't use the land claim area to mark it as being your blocks because you can place that anywhere, including in a POI.  (That's been suggested before, which is why I added the note.)  And adding an additional flag to all blocks to track ownership would increase save sizes quite a lot, so isn't a good option.

However, I have made the suggestion a few times to allow you to pick up a block within maybe 5 seconds of placing it so you can fix an "oops" when placing something.
The simplest base block can be easily assembled. Besides, everything is now being built from it except windows.

Not sure what you're meaning here.  The OP would like to pick up any block, such as a steel block.  Yes, you can place a frame and pick it up and you can upgrade the frame, but once upgraded, you cannot pick it up.  Windows are also blocks now.

I don't see any point in using them in the current version. If earlier I had to make iron gratings and then upgrade them to steel, now I can use wooden ones.

So it needs to be moved until it gets better. Make sure that it is in the right place and only then improve it.

I meant glass blocks. They are not improving.

Yes, you can upgrade, but not everyone wants to take time doing that and would like to just place the fully upgraded blocks.  That's what the OP is asking for.

Glass blocks don't improve, but windows with glass in them do.

I don't like losing so much experience.
