So yea just some ideas to improve the game like the ability to chain together, power sources, and battery banks a wind turbine the ability to box stacks of already made bullets as well as storage improvements like the ability to box and stack other resources in the game that are not currently stackable and increasing the stack of said boxed resources to 10 instead of five and I think a large container larger than we have currently would be useful that way we’re not spamming small crates and ending up with massive storage rooms just some thoughts
Chaining power sources has been suggested many times and would certainly make electricity easier to work with. But the chances they'll do that at this point are very low since that's been being suggested for years. I just plan around that and place power wherever I'll need it and run smaller circuits. It's not really a big deal, though chaining power sources would still be better.
A wind turbine (windmill) would be a nice alternative power source. But I think if they added that, they should first put together a global weather mechanic that will globally track wind speeds and direction, as well as other weather like rain. That will make it possible to have the windmill work based on actual wind and not just constantly be working, which wouldn't be realistic.
Boxing loose ammo has been suggested many times and would be a good addition. After all, I doubt many people would find it difficult to put a bunch of loose ammo into a box.
Making it possible to stack (box) more types of resources than what we can now could be nice, though I rarely even bother with the resources we can already do that with. Why spend time doing that when I can just make a crate and put the stuff in there as-is? Sure, I'd save some space, but space isn't an issue in this game. And if I don't want to have as many crates, I certainly don't need more than a full crate of unboxed/unstacked resources and can sell the rest rather than box it just to have even more that I don't need. The same thing for making the stacks go to 10 instead of 5... you don't really need all that, so there's not much reason to do it beyond someone just enjoying hoarding a ton of stuff that they'll never use.
If you organize things and don't keep a ton of stuff you'll never use, you don't really need that many crates, especially if you upgrade them to steel. Now, I'll admit that I do have around 35-40 crates in most games, but that's because I like to keep things organized. So, for example, I'll have a crate for only medical supplies and a crate for only weapon and armor parts. Half the crates never fill up, and the others that do fill up could easily be kept mostly empty if I just sold things I don't plan to use instead of storing them. After all, I don't need a crate of armor when I'll only ever wear what I'm wearing (some people might want a few sets to swap between, of course).
So you can easily keep your crates to a low number if you choose, or just plan on having a larger room for storage and not worry about it. I know I wouldn't start combining my different crates just because I have more space in them. I won't start to mix my medical supplies and my traps just because there is plenty of space for both in the same crate. I'll still keep them separated so it's easy to keep track of where everything is.
Even so, there's only desert and snow biome that would have enough wind to generate X amount of power, although when it's not windy, you got nothin', it practically wouldn't be feasible in the long run.
That's pretty harsh, they should change that so you can bundle em regardless if they're loose or crafted.
That's not really true. We built a windmill at a house I lived in as a kid and it was surrounded by a lot of trees (woods). It still spun very well. Windmills don't need a lot of wind to work. The blades can spin in even small gusts of wind. Obviously, if you want to power something or to charge batteries (charging batteries is normally what you'd want to be doing), you'd want a steady wind rather than gusts, but you can get a steady wind anywhere outside. A constant 5mph wind can be enough, depending what you're doing. Throw together a dozen windmills and you can easily power even larger things and charging batteries to use for powering things doesn't require much wind at all.
Don't forget that people have used windmills for a VERY long time to power things. If it wasn't feasible in the long run, they wouldn't have used them for so long.
