I am an avid enjoyer of the game, the below suggestions to may massively increase player base, and add many new players.
Some of these have existing mods to trial for feel.
Improve World Immersion - Give it a story

New In game soundtrack and noises
Urban Environment improvements (https://www.nexusmods.com/7daystodie/mods/6867)
Add new tree and shrub types, make naturally occurring. Forrests currently appear dull.
Zombies - Increase the unknowns & gameplay diversity
New Zombie sounds
Add zombie types eg. zombies which cling to roofs and drop down)
Mutated green zombie model -> Green streaks / deformities
New animations -> Upon waking a zombie, they are slow to turn, perhaps a "quick snap" animation could add to the fear factor.
Weapons
The cross-hair is outdated, make more slick, and disapear when aiming
Increase weapon aimed accuracy
Overhaul animations
These developers nailed new and exciting weapon designs from EFT (https://7daystodiemods.com/escape-from-tarkov-overhaul/)
I feel these do not overly modify the base game, and will certainly create better immersion.
There are many passionate modders who could likely make very ambitious changes if contracted for The Fun Pimps.
