Hello Brethrens.

The game started crashing on me recently. To be precise, the image freezes while the game keeps on playing as sounds still play.

Does anyone know what it could be ? The output log is attached, i have a Geforce 1060, Windows 10, 16 Gb RAM and a ryzen 6 core. I feel it could be due to some settings i should adjust but changing the quality of the graphics is of no help it seems.

Any Idea ?

Looks like a DX11 renderer issue.

As a workaround, try using GLCore renderer from the launcher. Also make sure you have the latest drivers for your 1060.

EDIT: Also, if your Ryzen has an integrated GPU, disable that. Then you might not have to switch to GLCore. (This also applies to anyone having this issue and has CPU integrated graphics, be it Intel or AMD)

EDIT 2: I also found this online, you go to NVIDIA control panel, make a profile for 7daystodie .exe file in the "Manage 3D settings" -> "Program settings" and put in the following:

Ambient Occlussion - OFF

Power Management Mode - Prefer Maximum Performance (apparently this is the key player here)

Threaded Optimization - ON

Triple Buffering - OFF

Vertical Sync - OFF

Glad to be of help. :)

I'll put these terms here in case someone uses the forum search to look for an answer:

d3d11: failed to create buffer

same issue with hd 6850. Wish I could solve this. Been troubleshooting 5 hours today, has been constant since 17 dropped. I need to either hard reset comp or sign out of windows and back in to solve. Can't access task manager, the game seems to be frozen in an always on top position with no way to force it to close.

Oh, a necro, and the original was posted in the wrong section.

Head over to General Support, read the Sticky Thread, and start a new one in the right place.

If the OP had done that, I could have told them to re-install their GPU driver and DirectX ages ago.
